Home makeover TV shows are as popular as ever – but have they diluted the true value of working with a professional interior designer? Lynne Frost, founder Lynne Frost Interiors, believes a good interior designer can assist greatly in the creation of a perfect home – and reduce the stress & costs that are associated with it.

The company, which is based in the West End, was established by Lynne Frost one year ago with the assistance of a Young enterprise Grant. A finalist in the Shell Live Wire competition 2006/5 Lynne is already proving herself as one of Aberdeen’s most exciting young entrepreneurs.

Lynne has designed interiors for all kinds of different environments including hotels, restaurants, retail, exhibitions and residential throughout the North East of Scotland. The company is already building a reputation for itself for designing traditional or modern interiors from concept to completion to a standard that exceeds expectations. Lynne can advise on choosing the fabric’s or wallpapers right through to project managing the development of the interior of a new house or re-fit.

Lynne explained: “I started up the business because the constraints of working for other people in the Interiors business made it very difficult to get across my own individual style. In setting up LF I am able to work closely with my clients and enhance their own ideas through my experience and skills.

“Where we differ from other design companies is that we provide a personal service whereby the clients ideas are personally interpreted and carefully managed from concept to completion. We pride ourselves on our creative thinking ensuring that that the personal touch extends the whole way through the project.

Many people are under the impression that interior designers are only for people with big houses and too much money. I’ve worked on bachelor pads through to castles and try to emphasise that the true benefits of using an interior designer are saving time and money as well as getting the perfect look for your home. It is best to consult an interior designer as early as possible if you are thinking of re-designing your house and you’ll have the support throughout the whole process.’
